Grove City downs Frostburg State

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team improved to 1-1 in dual-meet action Friday night with a 136-88 win over visiting Frostburg State at College Pool.

Freshman Caleb Courage (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) helped lead the Wolverines by earning wins in both the 50 and 100 free races. Courage turned in a time of 21.40 seconds in the 50, the second-fastest time in College history. He also remained unbeaten in the 100 free this year with a time of 47.35.

Freshman Albert Cheung (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) won the 200 individual medley in 2:13.32 while sophomore Luke Wiedeman (Beltsville, Md./Cedar Brook) won the 200 free (1:54.08). Also for Grove City, junior Joel Boerckel (East Moline, Ill./United Township) took top honors in the 100 backstroke (58.71) and junior Jeremiah Roberts (Butler, Pa./Knoch) won the 100 butterfly in 57.84 seconds.

Freshman Jeremy Harbaugh (South Park, Pa./South Park) won the 1000 in 10:39.61 and classmate Joe Riddell (Osny, France/Paul-Emil Victor) won the 1-meter diving competition with 203.05 points. Grove City did not lose a race in the meet.

Grove City will host the 8th annual James Longnecker Invitational Dec. 3-4 at College Pool.
