Wolverines improve to 3-1

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team won its third straight dual meet Saturday, rolling to a 135-99 victory over visiting Hiram Saturday afternoon at College pool.

Freshman Caleb Courage (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) earned a pair of individual wins for Grove City, winning both the 100 free (47.50) and 200 individual medley (2:00.77). Junior Ben Haring (Kenai, Alaska/Kenai Central) won the 50 free in 21.58 and joined Courage, freshman Jeremy Harbaugh (South Park, Pa./South Park) and sophomore John Newell (Butler, Pa./Butler) on Grove City's victorious 400 free relay team (3:17.50).

Sophomore Andrew Gilbert (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:16.73. Gilbert, junior Joel Boerckel (East Moline, Ill./United Township), senior Matt Trollinger (Damascus, Md./New Life Christian) and junior Matt Ziders (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay in 3:44.58.

Freshman diver Joe Riddell (Osny, France/Paul-Emil Victor) won 1-meter diving with 190.70 points while junior Mike Shantz (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) won 3-meter diving with 176.45 points.

Grove City (3-1) returns to action Jan. 15, 2005 at Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Washington and Jefferson.
