Wolverines roll past Behrend

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Seven different Grove City athletes earned wins Saturday as the Grove City College men's swimming and diving team closed the dual-meet portion of the schedule with a 122-87 home win over Penn State Behrend.

Grove City finishes the season 6-2, the Wolverines' best record since an 8-2 mark in 2000-01.

Junior Ben Haring (Kenai, Alaska/Kenai Central) won the 50 free in 21.46 seconds while freshman Jeremy Harbaugh (South Park, Pa./South Park) won the 200 free in 1:51.99. Sophomore Andrew Gilbert (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) took first in the 200 individual medley (2:05.48) while junior Jeremiah Roberts (Butler, Pa./Knoch) won the 200 butterfly in 2:08.74.

Sophomore John Newell (Butler, Pa./Butler) won the 100 free in 51.24 while frosh Emmanuel Butmankiewicz (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Westminster Academy) took the 200 backstroke in 2:15.10. Freshman diver Joe Riddell (Osny, France/Paul-Emil Victor) won 1-meter diving with 207.35 points.

Grove City will host the Grove City Invitational and Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Feb. 10-12.
