Grove City competes in NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS -- Five members of the Grove City College competed in the second day of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Minneapolis Friday afternoon.

Grove City swimmers did not score any points Friday evening. As a team, Grove City currently has 53.5 team points.

Sophomore Caleb Courage (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) placed 18th in the 200 free with a time of 1 minute, 42.20 seconds. Courage, freshman Tim Whitbeck (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown), freshman Drew Snyder (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) and senior Ben Haring (Kenai, Alaska/Kenai Central) opened the meet with a 17th-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:37.22).

Snyder, Haring, Courage and freshman Mitch Young (Greeley, Col./Greeley West) closed the meet with a 17th-place finish in the 800 free relay (7:03.96).

Grove City will open Saturday's trials at 11 a.m. Central Time.
