Grove City downs Bethany
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team is now 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference after the Wolverines earned an 88-66 win over Bethany Wednesday night at the Grove City College Pool.
Three freshmen earned wins for Grove City. Mark Barron (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) won the 1000 in 10 minutes, 27.58 seconds while Drew Snyder (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) won the 200 free in 1:52.54. Fellow freshman Chad Toth (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Christian) won the 200 individual medley in 2:08.38.
Senior Ben Haring (Kenai, Alaska/Kenai Central) won the 50 free in 22.30. The Wolverines opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay as the quartet of senior Joel Boerckel (East Moline, Ill./United Township), sophomore Tyler May (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills), sophomore Emmanuel Butmankiewicz (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Westminster Christian) and sophomore Caleb Courage (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) won in 3:44.33.
Grove City will visit Hiram Saturday.
