Grove City tops Presidents

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team improved to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 126-101 win over visiting Washington and Jefferson Saturday afternoon at the Grove City College Pool.

Sophomore Caleb Courage (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) earned a pair of individual wins for Grove City. Courage won the 200 free in 1 minute, 45.64 seconds and then won the 100 free in 46.39. Senior Ben Haring (Kenai, Alaska/Kenai Central) took first in the 50 free (21.48) while freshman Mark Barron (Coraopolis, Pa./Montour) won the 1000 in 10:08.29.

Senior Joel Boerckel (East Moline, Ill./United Township) won the 200 backstroke in 2:04.13. Senior Mike Shantz (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) won 3-meter diving with 160.95 points.

Grove City will visit PAC rival Westminster Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
