Courage earns ECAC Swimmer of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. -- Grove City College junior swimmer Caleb Courage (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) is this week's Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Co-Men's Swimmer of the Week. Courage shares this week's award with Wheaton (Mass.) senior Barrett Roberts.

Last week, Courage accumulated eight total victories in helping Grove City earn dual-meet wins over Westminster and Wooster. In Grove City's 143.5-136.5 victory over Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Westminster Jan. 16, Courage earned three individual victories. Courage won the 100 free in 45.28 seconds while also securing wins in the 200 free (1:42.83) and 200 individual medley (1:57.16).

Courage also helped Grove City's 200 medley relay open the Westminster meet with a victorious time of 1:35.54.

Saturday, Courage helped Grove City (12-1 overall, 3-0 PAC) to its 11th straight dual-meet win by picking up four total victories in Grove City's 164-134 triumph at Wooster. Courage won the 50 free in 21.31 seconds and also touched first in the 100 free (47.01). Courage also contributed to Grove City's triumphant efforts in the 200 medley relay (1:39.03) and the 200 free relay (1:26.57).

He is also this week's PAC Swimmer of the Week.

It is Courage's second career ECAC Swimmer of the Week award. He is the defending NCAA Division III champion in the 100 free and is a six-time NCAA All-American.

Grove City will conclude the regular season Friday night with a home double-dual against Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Behrend at 6 p.m. Grove City will host the Grove City Invitational/Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Feb. 8-10.
