Wolverines sweep double dual
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team improved to 3-1 Friday night with a pair of home victories against Saint Vincent and Frostburg State. Grove City downed Saint Vincent, 69-52, and also earned a 63-45 win over Frostburg State.
Freshman Brian Schultz (Portersville, Pa./Portersville Christian) earned a pair of individual wins for Grove City. Schultz won the 100 free in 58.16 seconds, then won the 200 backstroke in 2:10.63. Freshman Lincoln Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:19.37 while classmate Chip Cressman (Marriottsville, Md./Homeschooled) won the 200 free (1:47.62).
Also for Grove City, sophomore Tim Whitbeck (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) touched first in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.10) and senior captain Luke Wiedeman (Beltsville, Md./Cedar Brook) won the 500 free in 5:11.13.
Schultz, Lincoln Larsen, sophomore Peter Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) and sophomore Drew Snyder (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:40.24.
Grove City will face Case Western Reserve, Kenyon and Washington & Jefferson in a quadrangular meet at Kenyon Saturday afternoon in Gambier, Ohio at 1 p.m.
