Wolverines clinch 56th straight winning season

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team clinched its 56th straight winning season by earning a 147-113 win over visiting Hiram in a non-conference dual meet in the Grove City College Pool. Grove City is now 9-1 overall.

Sophomore Drew Snyder (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) led Grove City with a pair of individual victories. Snyder won the 100 free in 49.74 seconds and also touched first in the 200 free (1:51.70). Senior Andrew Gilbert (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) completed Grove City's sweep of the sprints by winning the 50 in 22.90.

Sophomore Tyler May (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.19 while junior Jeremy Harbaugh (South Park, Pa./South Park) won the 200 fly (2:10.37). Freshman Brian Schultz (Portersville, Pa./Portersville Christian) took first in the 100 backstroke (56.91) while classmate Chip Cressman (Marriottsville, Md./Homeschooled) earned victory in the 1650 (16:38.98).

Grove City opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:36.69. Gilbert, junior Caleb Courage (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg), sophomore Peter Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) and sophomore Tim Whitbeck (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) combined for the win.

The Wolverines will return to action Jan. 13 at Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Washington & Jefferson.
