Wolverines top Saint Vincent
LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team improved to 1-1 on the 2007-08 season Friday night with a 123-100 victory over host Saint Vincent in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet.
Seven different Grove City swimmers posted individual victories Friday night. Junior Tim Whitbeck (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) won the 50 free in 20.89 seconds while freshman Bennett Keefer (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) won the 100 free in 51.92 seconds.
Junior Peter Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) won the 200 free (1:48.99) and senior Jeremy Harbaugh (South Park, Pa./South Park) took the 1650 with a time of 17:44.99.
Sophomore Tucker Gregg (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) won the 100 backstroke in 57.27 while sophomore Lincoln Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) captured first in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.78). Freshman Chris Marasco (Washington, Pa./Washington) won the 200 butterfly in 2:11.15.
Freshman Cam Coppelli, Lincoln Larsen, Peter Larsen and Whitbeck opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay in 3:41.54.
Grove City will host the Grove City Quad Saturday at 1 p.m.
