Denison downs Grove City
GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team fell to 8-3 overall Saturday afternoon as host Denison handed the Wolverines a 168-121 setback.
Junior Tim Whitbeck (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) led Grove City by winning the 50 free in 20.74 seconds. He also posted a second-place finish in the 100 free (48.56).
Junior Peter Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) placed second in the 200 free (1:48.72). Sophomore Lincoln Larsen (Federal Way, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) took second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.21.
Whitbeck, Peter Larsen, Lincoln Larsen and freshman Cam Coppelli (Guys Mills, Pa./Saegertown) opened the meet by finishing second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:38.57.
Grove City will visit Penn State Behrend Friday night at 5 p.m. for a double-dual with Behrend and Pitt-Bradford.
