Wolverines fall on road

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team opened the dual-meet portion of the 2011-12 schedule Saturday with a 162-118 setback at Allegheny in non-conference action.

Freshman Rich Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) won 1-meter diving for Grove City with 235.50 points. Senior Kirk Gagliardo (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) recorded three runner-up finishes. He took second in the 50 free in 21.90 seconds and also earned second in the 100 free (48.28) and 100 butterfly (54.50).

Grove City will open Presidents' Athletic Conference action next Saturday at home against Saint Vincent.
