Wolverines 5th at Kenyon Invitational

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team concluded the three-day Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational Saturday night by taking fifth place with 319 points. Penn won the team title with 1,572 points, followed by Kenyon (1,216), Davidson (615) and Carnegie Mellon (511).

Senior Kirk Gagliardo (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) led Grove City by taking fourth in the 100 free with a time of 46.07 seconds. Sophomore Louis Gabriele (Mahwah, N.J./Don Bosco) earned sixth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:09.62.

The Wolverines also took seventh in both the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Senior Collin Foster (Columbus, Ind./Columbus East), senior Clay Beckner (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), senior Ben Bowser (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) and Gagliardo finished seventh in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:34.85.

Bowser, Gagliardo, junior Eric Fairchild (Corry, Pa./Corry) and sophomore C.P. Delhi (Moneta, Va./Staunton River) closed the meet with a time of 3:09.01 in the 400 free relay.

Grove City will visit Chatham next Saturday for a non-conference dual meet against Hiram College at 1 p.m.
