Wolverines top Saint Vincent in league opener

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference action Saturday with a 140-116 win at Saint Vincent at Resnik Pool.

Junior Dave Bossert (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) earned a pair of wins in distance events to help pace the Wolverines (1-1 overall). He won the 1000 in 10 minutes, 48.18 seconds and then captured the 500 in 5:15.22.

Sophomore Ben Satre (Hockessin, Del./Homeschooled) won the 200 butterfly in 2:10.33 while junior Noah Walker (Lexington, Ky./Homeschooled) won the 200 backstroke in 2:09.34. Freshman Jordan Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River) won the 50 free (22.26).

Jordan Dehli, junior C.P. Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River), senior Ian Smyth (Troy, Pa./Troy) and freshman John Livezey (Newtown Square, Pa./Homeschooled) closed the meet with a winning time of 3:20.73 in the 400 free relay.

Grove City will visit Carnegie Mellon next Saturday at 1 p.m. in non-conference action.
