Wolverines earn split

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team split a non-conference double dual Saturday afternoon at Allegheny College's David Wise Center. The Wolverines earned a 173-125 victory over Wooster but dropped a 167-127 decision to Allegheny.

Seniors Eric Fairchild (Corry, Pa./Corry) and Adam Walker (Lexington, Ky./Homeschooled) both earned individual wins for Grove City. Fairchild won the 200 free in 1 minute, 45.49 seconds. Meanwhile, Walker won the 200 breaststroke in 2:19.15.

Fairchild, freshman Jordan Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River), junior C.P. Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River) and sophomore Caleb McKusick (Waconia, Minn./Homeschooled) closed the meet by winning the 200 free relay in 1:27.81.

Junior Dave Bossert (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) took second in the 500 (5:03.43) and 1000 (10:27.07) while Fairchild finished second in the 50 free (21.41) and 100 free (47.63). Junior Louis Gabriele (Mahwah, N.J./Don Bosco) earned second to Walker in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:19.26.

Sophomore Richie Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) took second in 3-meter diving with 232.50 points.

Grove City will host Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Westminster Thursday night at 6 p.m.
