Grove City drops conference dual

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team dropped a 160-134 decision to visiting Westminster Thursday night in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet at the James E. Longnecker Pool.

Senior Eric Fairchild (Corry, Pa./Corry) helped lead the Grove City effort by capturing three events. He won the 50 free in 21.86 seconds and then prevailed in the 100 free with a winning time of 47.60 seconds. Fairchild also won the 200 free in 1:44.52.

Fairchild also anchored Grove City's victorious 400 free relay squad, which posted a time of 3:13.97. Freshman Jordan Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River), sophomore Caleb McKusick (Waconia, Minn./Homeschooled) and junior C.P. Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River) contributed the first three legs of the relay.

Junior Dave Bossert (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) won the 1000 in 10:15.21. Sophomore diver Richie Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) swept the diving events. He won 1-meter diving with 227.95 points and recorded 190.45 points in winning the 3-meter competition.

Grove City will host Bethany Saturday at 1 p.m. Several Wolverine swimmers will also compete in the Pitt Quad Saturday at 11 a.m.
