WOLVERINES RECLAIM CONFERENCE TITLE!

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team captured its 26th all-time conference title Saturday night by earning first place in the three-day James E. Longnecker Invitational/Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships. Grove City concluded Saturday night's session with 773 points, 55 points ahead of defending conference champion Westminster.

For Grove City, it is the program's sixth conference title in the last seven seasons.

Freshman Jeremy Kim (Frederick, Md./New Life Christian) captured Grove City's lone victory Saturday night by winning the 200 butterfly in 1 minute, 53.10 seconds. That time surpasses the NCAA's provisional qualifying standard.

Grove City sealed the team championship by taking second place in the meet-closing 400 free relay. Freshman Drew Nosbisch (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway), senior C.P. Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River), sophomore Jim Bossert (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) and junior Caleb McKusick (Waconia, Minn./Homeschooled) combined for a runner-up time of 3:08.79.

Senior Dave Bossert (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) opened Saturday's finals by earning second in the 1650 (16:49.12). Senior Louis Gabriele (Mahwah, N.J./Don Bosco) captured third in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.12) while junior Ben Satre (Hockessin, Del./Homeschooled) placed third in the 200 butterfly (1:54.91).

Jim Bossert took fourth in the 200 backstroke (1:55.59) and Dehli earned fourth in the 100 free (48.00).

Westminster's Steven Brooks earned the Invitational and conference's Most Valuable Performer awards.

Grove City has won 18 Presidents' Athletic Conference titles and eight Penn-Ohio Conference championships. The Wolverines took second last year.
