SVC tops Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving squad opened its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Saturday afternoon with a 143-132 setback against visiting Saint Vincent at the James E. Longnecker Pool.
Sophomore Drew Nosbisch (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) helped lead the Grove City effort by posting three wins. He won the 1000 in 10 minutes, 11.15 seconds and also won the 500 in 4:57.71. Nosbisch additionally captured the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:00.65.
Senior Richie Klimek (Oakdale, Pa./South Fayette) swept diving for Grove City. He won 1-meter diving with 236.55 points and prevailed on the 3-meter board with 167.92 points.
Grove City opened the meeting by winning the 200 medley relay as sophomore Jake Marino (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford), sophomore Daniel Peng (Indiana, Pa./Indiana), freshman Brett Gwynn (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) and senior Caleb McKusick (Waconia, Minn./Homeschooled) combined for a winning time of 1:38.66.
Marino won the 100 backstroke (56.94) and sophomore Jeremy Kim (Frederick, Md./New Life Christian) took the 200 free in 1:47.91.
Grove City (1-1) will visit Carnegie Mellon next Saturday for a tri-meet with the University of Rochester and CMU.
