Grove City drops double-dual to Case, Gannon

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team dropped a double-dual meet to Case Western and Gannon on Saturday afternoon at Case Western's Veale Natatorium. The Wolverines fell to the host Spartans 220-74 and were defeated by the Knights 191-97.

Freshman Dane Hoselton (Naples, N.Y./Naples Central) earned the lone overall win on the day for Grove City, claiming the victory in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.60 seconds.

Senior Jordan Dehli (Moneta, Va./Staunton River) took second overall and earned the win against Gannon in the 50 free with a time oof 22.34 seconds while Grove City also earned diving wins against Gannon on both boards. Sophomore Sam Archibald (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) was second overall on the 3-meter board with a score of 144.65 points while freshman Matt Schallus (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seneca Valley) accumulated 149.15 points to take second overall on the 1-meter board.

Senior Tim Bergquist (Kent, Wash./Kentridge) earned a pair of runner-up finishes against Gannon. He took fifth in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.07 before finishing third overall and second against both teams with a 2:19.95 in the 200 breast.

Grove City returns to action December 3-5 when they compete in the Calvin College Winter Invitational.
