Grove City Defeats Mount Union, 113-93 ALLIANCE, OH, December 11, 1999--Steve Johnston (North Wales, PA/North Penn) and Luke Downer (Daytona Beach, FL/Warner Christian) swam away with three wins each as the Wolverines topped host Mount Union, 113-93. Johnston was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.39) and 200 individual medley (2:03.93), while Downer touched first in the 1,000 freestyle (10:33.21) and 500 free (4:59.31). Both were also part of the winning 400 medley relay team (3:51.74) along with Bruce Unks (Glenshaw, PA/Shaler) and Bob Young (Glenshaw, PA/Shaler). Unks added a first-place time in the 200 butterfly (2:08.11), and Young won the 100 free (:50.81). Grove City's dual meet record improved to 3-1. |
