First opened in September 1954 to replace the Gymnasium on Lower Campus, the Intramural Room originally consisted of two basketball courts which could be converted to two volleyball or two tennis courts.  In 1989 the Intramural Room was expanded to include an additional two basketball courts which could also be converted to two volleyball courts or two tennis courts.  The expansion also included the suspended indoor track and a sand pit that can be used for long or triple jump or be configured for pole vault.

In addition to physical education classes, the Intramural Room is also used for numerous intramural basketball and volleyball competitions as well as an alternative practice site for all of the College's Varsity sports teams.
