Dwyer earns Academic All-America
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College junior men's tennis player Jeremy Dwyer (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) earned College Division Men's At-Large Third Team Academic All-America honors Tuesday from ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It is Dwyer's first Academic All-America honor.
A two-time First Team Academic All-District selection, Dwyer captured Presidents' Athletic Conference titles at both fourth singles and third doubles in 2008. Dwyer went 17-3 in singles action this year and 14-4 in doubles play. For his career, Dwyer owns a 43-4 singles record and a 33-8 mark in doubles action.
In 2007, Dwyer earned Team MVP honors. He is a six-time PAC champion and has helped the Wolverines win the conference title in each of his first three seasons.
A six-time Dean's List selection, Dwyer owns a 3.91 cumulative grade-point average as an electrical engineering major. He has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll and has earned the College's Presidential Scholarship. Dwyer is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honorary and the Kappa Mu Epsilon math honorary.
Dwyer is the 10th different Grove City student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors since 2002. Dwyer is the second Grove City student-athlete to earn Academic All-America this year, joining senior women's soccer player Alix Flowers (Forest, Va./New Covenant).
