Gators top Wolverines, 7-2
MEADVILLE, PA, April 16, 2002--The Wolverine tennis team took the early lead at
Allegheny, winning two of three doubles points, but the Gators rallied to sweep
all six singles matches to post a 7-2 victory in Meadville on Tuesday.
Sophomore Patrick Donahue (Lafayette, IN/Lafayette Jefferson) and freshman Phil Springirth (Erie, PA/Harborcreek), this week's Presidents' Athletic Conference player of the week, improved to 7-1 at second doubles with an 8-6 victory. Junior Geoff Gehring (Madison, OH/Madison) and sophomore Steve Light (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Twp.) won by the same margin at third doubles to move to 8-1 on the season.
Grove City dropped to 10-5 overall.
