Grove City tops Thiel 8-1, gives Walters win No. 300

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's tennis team improved to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Monday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over PAC rival Thiel at the Grove City College Courts. It is Grove City's third straight victory.

The victory is also the 300th tennis coaching victory for 34th-year Grove City head coach Joe Walters. Walters has a 289-111 record as men's tennis coach. He also guided Grove City's women's tennis team to an 11-1 mark in 2004. Monday's match was also Walters' 400th as head men's tennis coach.

Grove City will visit Allegheny Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
