Grove City nips Macalester, 5-4
HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Grove City College men's tennis team improved to 4-3 Tuesday night by pulling out a 5-4 victory over Macalester (Minn.) in Hilton Head, S.C. Grove City won four of the six singles matches to earn the non-conference victory.
Junior Jeremy Dwyer (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) and freshman Marc Mentzer (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) both earned three-set victories in singles play. Dwyer warded off three match points in the second set at fourth singles before eventually winning 7-5. Dwyer then won the third set, 13-11, to secure the team win.
Earlier Tuesday, Grove City blanked Seton Hill, 9-0. Wednesday, Grove City will play Scranton at 1 p.m.
