Wolverines edge Mercyhurst

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's tennis team opened the home portion of the 2012 season Saturday afternoon by pulling out a 5-4 victory over NCAA Division II member Mercyhurst at the Grove City College Courts.

The Wolverines (2-1) secured the win by splitting the six singles matches. Senior Scott Yanak (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) rallied for a three-set win at fourth singles to help Grove City erase a 4-3 deficit.

The Wolverines will open Presidents' Athletic Conference play Monday, March 26 at Thiel. The match will begin at 4 p.m.
