Wolverines win NCAA opener
BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Grove City College men's tennis team opened play in the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament Friday afternoon by rolling to a 5-0 win over Penn State-Harrisburg in a regional quarterfinal at Johns Hopkins University. Grove City (12-2 spring, 13-4 overall) will now face No. 12 Middlebury Saturday at 2 p.m. in the regional semifinals.
Grove City won all three doubles matches and then received singles wins from junior Anthony Rosselli (Poland, Ohio/Poland) and senior Scott Yanak (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) to sew up the team win.
Grove City is making its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. In 2011, the Wolverines defeated Elizabethtown in the regional quarterfinals, 5-3.
The winner of the Grove City-Middlebury match will face either Johns Hopkins or Elizabethtown in the regional final Sunday.
