Grove City rolls Marietta
MARIETTA, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's tennis team swept the singles competition en route to an 8-1 non-conference victory at Marietta on Friday afternoon at the Beren Tennis Center.
Juniors Peter Riley (Woodbury, Pa./Northern Bedford) and Colby Beighey (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) teamed for an 8-1 victory at first doubles for the Wolverines (1-3) before winning their individual matches at first and second singles, respectively.
Sophomore Jon Graber (Atglen, Pa./Octorara) and junior Chris Collins (West Chester, Pa./Delaware Co. Christian) earned an 8-1 victory at second doubles and then earned wins at third and fourth singles.
Freshman Thane Feldeisen (Ann Arbor, Mich./Greenhills) earned the victory at fifth singles while sophomore Dan Schafhauser (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) blanked his opponent at sixth singles.
Grove City has a quick turnaround, as the Wolverines travel to Thomas More tomorrow for their Presidents' Athletic Conference opener. Match time is slated for 2 p.m.
