Wolverines fall to Mount Union in fall finale

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's tennis team concluded the 2014 fall season with a hard-fought 5-4 loss at Mount Union on Friday afternoon.

Senior Peter Riley (Woodbury, Pa./Northern Bedford) was the team's lone double-winner on the day, teaming with classmate Colby Beighey (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) for an 8-6 win at first doubles before defeating the Purple Raiders' Malcolm Leake 6-1, 6-3 at first singles.

Freshman Matt Lynch (Eighty Four, Pa./Bentworth) rallied from a first-set loss to earn a narrow three-set victory at fifth singles while fellow freshman Jon Fleet (West Chester, Pa./Hendersen) also earned a three-set victory at sixth singles.

The Wolverines are scheduled to begin the spring portion of their schedule on March 20 at Westminster.
