Grove City falls to Mount Union in fall finale

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's tennis team dropped its final match of the fall season, falling to regional foe Mount Union 8-1 on Thursday evening at the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.

Junior Jason Wichert (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) earned Grove City's lone win of the day, posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory over the Purple Raiders' Matt Bringman at fifth singles. Sophomore Zack Sprunger (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) narrowly missed a second Wolverine win, falling 15-13 in a super-tiebreaker third set at third singles.

The Wolverines return to action in the spring. Their first match is currently slated for April 2 at Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Thomas More.
