Wolverines down Bethany, stay perfect in PAC

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's tennis stayed perfect in Presidents' Athletic Conference play by earning a hard-fought 8-1 victory over Bethany on Wednesday afternoon at the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.

Senior Jon Graber (Atglen, Pa./Octorara) and sophomore Zack Sprunger (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) pulled out a 7-4 tiebreaker win to give the Wolverines (4-7, 3-0 PAC) a 9-8 first doubles victory and a doubles sweep for a 3-0 lead.

Grove City won four of the six singles flights in straight sets to clinch the match and a 7-0 lead, and junior Nate Roberts (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) rallied from a first set loss for a 6-4 second set victory and a 10-5 win in the tiebreaker to give the Wolverines their eighth win.

Drake Berlin earned the lone win for the Bison (4-2, 0-1) at second singles, edging sophomore Jon Fleet (West Chester, Pa./Hendersen) in a 10-point super-tiebreaker.

The Wolverines will look to remain unbeaten in conference play when they host Westminster on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
