Wolverines fall to Allegheny

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's tennis team's seven-match win streak came to an end on Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 loss to visiting Allegheny at the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.

The Wolverines won just six games in the three doubles matches before falling in straight sets in five of six singles matches. Sophomore Zack Sprunger (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) won his first set at third singles 6-1 before falling 7-5 in the second set and 10-7 in a super-tiebreaker.

Grove City (8-8 overall) is 7-1 this spring and a perfect 7-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play. The Wolverines close their 2016 PAC regular-season slate on Friday when they visit Washington & Jefferson for a 3:30 p.m. match.
