Wolverines drop NCAA opener
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Franciscan University in the regional quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament Friday at Case Western University. Franciscan won two of the three doubles matches, then secured three singles wins to clinch the win.
Franciscan will face Case Western at 11 a.m. Saturday. Grove City concludes the season 9-9 overall, including an 8-2 mark in the spring portion of the 2015-16 schedule. The Wolverines defeated Franciscan, 5-4, during the regular season September 22 in Grove City.
Grove City's appearance in the NCAA Tournament marked the sixth straight season that the Wolverines advanced to the national tournament.
