Spring Arbor (MI) 8, Grove City 1

March 28, 1999--Grove City dropped to 0-2 on its southern swing with an 8-1 loss to Spring Arbor (MI) Monday in Hilton Head.

R.C. Phinney (Geneva, OH/Geneva) recorded the Wolverines lone victory (6-3, 6-1) at fourth singles to move to 2-0 on the trip.

Dan Barber (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) suffered his first setback at first singles (0-6, 3-6).  John Aderholt (Wheeling, WV/Wheeling Park) lost at two (2-6, 3-6), Brian Allan (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) fell at three (4-6, 2-6), Keith Petrie (Frederick, MD/Thomas Johnson) dropped five (3-6, 3-6) and Jered Freed (Wadsworth, OH/Tallmadge) lost six (1-6, 7-5, 3-6).

In doubles, Barber and Aderholt lost one (1-8), Allan and Phinney dropped two (6-8) and Petrie and Zaph fell at three (4-8).
