Grove City competes at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's track and field team competed in the unscored Washington & Jefferson Invitational Saturday at Cameron Stadium.

Sophomore John Green (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) paced the Wolverines by winning the 400 hurdles in 55.77 seconds.

Sophomore Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) earned sixth in the 10,000 (34:15.27), one spot ahead of junior Francis Ridge (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore). Ridge took seventh in 34:20.94.

Sophomore Arleigh McRae (East Brookfield, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) finished seventh in the 5000 (15:09.86).

Junior Andrew Munro (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) led Grove City in the field by finishing sixth in the javelin with a best throw of 158 feet, 7 inches.

Grove City will return to action April 14 at the Westminster Invitational.
