Wolverines close regular season
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's track and field squad concluded the 2014 regular season Friday evening by hosting the Parents' Weekend Invitational at Robert E. Thorn Field. Grove City recorded five total wins in the meet.
Senior John Green (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier Valley) won the 400 meters in 49.34 seconds while classmate Matt Mucha (Parma, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) won the 1500 in 4:12.04.
Junior Peter Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Broadfording Christian) won the 5000 (15:33.84) and senior Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) captured the steeplechase in 10:06.76. Freshman Nick Betz (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon) took first in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 15.39 seconds.
Several Grove City athletes will compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships May 15-16 in Troy, N.Y.
