Six earn wins at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio -- Six members of the Grove City College men's track and field team secured wins Friday evening at Oberlin College's Bob Kahn Invitational.

Senior Brandon Ward (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) paced Grove City by sweeping the hurdles. Ward won the 110 hurdles in 18.82 seconds, then posted a time of 1:00.51 to win the 400 hurdles.

Senior Jonah Meyer (Cambridge Springs, Pa./Cambridge Springs) won the 200 meters (23.75) while sophomore Drew Thibault (Durham, N.H./Oyster River) won the 3000 steeplechase in 10:23.60. Junior Dan Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick) opened the running events by winning the 10,000 in 32:01.43.

Two Grove City fieldmen also earned wins. Sophomore Quinton Reed (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) won the javelin with a throw of 172 feet, 1 inch. Meanwhile, junior Mike Cole (Leesburg, Va./Flint Hill) prevailed in the triple jump with a best leap of 42-9.

Grove City will compete in the Westminster Invitational next Saturday at Memorial Field in New Wilmington, Pa.
