Wolverines place sixth at Wooster Invite

WOOSTER, OH, September 22, 2001--The Grove City College men's cross country team placed sixth out of 10 schools at the College of Wooster Invitational, held Saturday at the hilly L.C. Bolles Golf Course in Wooster, OH.

Junior Ryan Mitchell (Dayton, OH/Centerville) paced all Wolverine runners with a time of 28:40, good for 18th place in the 118-man field.   Freshman Derrick Yoder (Mercersburg, PA/James Buchanan) and sophomore Steve Brown (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Twp.) placed 29th and 30th, respectively, in 29:24 and 29:25.   Junior Derrick Stauff (Quakertown, PA/Conrad Weiser) crossed in 33rd place with a time of 29:32, while senior Josh Bolinger (Warren, OH/Lakeview) also scored with a 38th-place time of 29:39.

Ashland University won the meet with 32 points, followed by Case Western Reserve University (46), IUP (90), Wooster (102), Allegheny (109), Grove City (148), Muskingum (176), Hiram (225), Cuyahoga Community College (266) and Notre Dame College (289).
