Wolverine men place 4th at Case Western meet
CLEVELAND -- Six Grove City College runners placed in the top 28 Saturday morning as the Wolverine harriers placed fourth out of 10 teams at the Case Western Reserve University Sudeck Classic at Squire Valleevue Farm.
The Wolverines earned 111 team points, trailing only host Case Western (41 points), Mount Union (62) and Oberlin (107).
Senior Steve Brown (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) led Grove City with a 10th-place finish in a time of 27:31. Meanwhile, freshman Andy Leuenberger (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) placed 23rd in 28:37 while Chris Lee (Pompton Plains, N.J./Trinity Christian) ran a 28:43, good for 25th place.
Also for the Wolverines, senior Nick Gingerich (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) finished 26th in 28:47 while Dan Adams (Derwood, Md./Col. Zaduk Magruder) was 27th with a time of 28:49. Sophomore Dan Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) finished 28th, three seconds behind Adams.
Senior Jack Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) finished 39th in 29:02 and frosh Erik Johnson (Waterboro, Maine/Massabese) took 47th in 29:28.
