Grove City competes at Dickinson
CARLISLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed 12th out of 36 teams at the Dickinson College Long Course/Short Course Invitational at Carlisle High School Saturday morning.
Grove City competed only in the 8-kilometer Long Course race and finished 12th in the Long Course portion of the event. The Wolverines earned 128 team points. Carnegie Mellon won the Long Course with 20 total points, seven ahead of Allegheny.
Senior Steve Brown (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) led Grove City by finishing 19th in a time of 27:14.40 while junior Dan Adams (Derwood, Md./Col. Zadok Magruder) placed 49th in the 260-runner field with a time of 28:16.54.
Also for Grove City, senior Nick Gingerich (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) finished 68th (28:34.23) while Jack Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) was 79th in a time of 28:49.43. Chris Lee (Pompton Plains, N.J./Trinity Christian) took 82nd in 28:51.02 while Dan Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) finished 85th in 28:54.29).
Grove City will compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational next Saturday.
