Grove City opens at CWRU's Sudeck Classic

CLEVELAND -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed sixth out of eight team's at Case Western Reserve University's Sudeck Classic Saturday. The Wolverines earned 150 points, trailing Baldwin-Wallace (51), Allegheny (60), Mount Union (81), CWRU (87) and John Carroll (109).

Senior Chris Lee (Pompton Plains, N.J./Trinity Christian) led Grove City with a 15th-place finish, covering the 8000-meter course in 28 minutes, 4 seconds. Sophomore Andy Leuenberger (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) finished 28th in a time of 29:08, six spots ahead of sophomore Andrew Kloes (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills), who turned in a mark of 29:28.

Frosh Joey Cortez (Ellwood City, Pa./Ellwood City Lincoln) took 41st (29:41) while junior Dan Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) finished 44th in 30:06.

Grove City will compete in the Allegheny Invitational next Saturday.
