Grove City close 3rd at Allegheny Invite

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team finished third at the five-team Allegheny Invitational Saturday, accumulating 42 team points. Host Allegheny won with 39 points while King's placed second with 41 total points.

Senior Chris Lee (Pompton Plains, N.J./Trinity Christian) led the Wolverines with a fourth-place finish in 28 minutes, 29 seconds. Sophomore Andy Leuenberger (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) took seventh with a mark of 29:09, one spot ahead of sophomore Erik Johnson (Waterboro, Maine/Massabese). Johnson posted a time of 29:17.

Also for Grove City, junior Dan Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) placed 10th in 29:28 while sophomore Andrew Kloes (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) finished 13th (29:45). Freshman Joey Cortez (Ellwood City, Pa./Ellwood City Lincoln) finished 16th in 30:05.
