Wolverines take 2nd at Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed second at the four-team Allegheny Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Grove City accumulated 64 points to take second overall. Host Allegheny won with 17 points.

Freshman Dan Spaulding (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) led Grove City with an 11th-place finish. Spaulding posted a time of 27 minutes, 53 seconds. Senior Dan Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) took 13th in 27:58 while sophomore Chris Andrew (Bow, N.H./Bow) placed 15th with a time of 28:19.

Also for the Wolverines, junior Andrew Leuenberger (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) finished 18th in 28:39 while freshman Nathan Johnson took 19th in 28:39.

Grove City will compete in the Penn State Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 24.
