Wolverines compete in Penn State Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed 13th out of 17 teams Saturday morning at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational. The Wolverines earned 351 team points, placing them fourth out of the six NCAA Division III teams in attendance.

Freshman Daniel Spaulding (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) placed 60th with a time of 28 minutes. Senior Dan Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) took 64th in 28:09 while sophomore Chris Andrew (Bow, N.H./Bow) finished 69th in 28:19.

Also for Grove City, sophomore Joey Cortez (Ellwood City, Pa./Ellwood City Lincoln) finished 74th (28:32) while freshman Nathan Johnson (Eugene, Ore./Sheldon) took 84th in a time of 29:01.

The meet featured five NCAA Division I schools along with three NCAA Division II teams. Grove City will compete in the Dickinson Invitational next Saturday, Oct. 1.
