Grove City wins PAC title
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team won its 15th straight Presidents' Athletic Conference title Saturday at the conference championships, hosted by Thiel College at Greenville Airport.
Grove City earned 20 team points to out-distance Washington and Jefferson (57), Waynesburg (94), Westminster (98), Bethany (147) and host Thiel (150)
All seven Grove City competitors earned All-PAC honors. Senior Dan Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) took second overall with a time of 26 minutes, 56 seconds. Freshman Dan Spaulding (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) finished third in 27:01 while sophomore Josiah Leuenberger (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) placed fourth with a time of 27:21.
Freshman Brett Kelly (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) finished fifth with a time of 27:22 while sophomore Chris Andrew (Bow, N.H./Bow) grabbed sixth place in 27:25. Sophomore Greg Kroleski (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) finished seventh with a time of 27:39 and sophomore Joey Cortez (Ellwood City, Pa./Ellwood City Lincoln) claimed eighth in 27:43.
Chittick, Spaulding, Leuenberger, Kelly, Andrew and Kroleski were all named to the PAC's First Team, while Cortez earned All-PAC Second Team recognition. Washington and Jefferson's Matt Rudzki won the individual title.
Grove City will compete in the NCAA Mideast Regional Nov. 12 at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.
