Wolverines compete in NCAA Regional

CARLISLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed 17th of 40 teams at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships Saturday, hosted by Dickinson College at Carlisle High School. The Wolverines accumulated 432 team points. Haverford won with 36 points while Carnegie Mellon took second with 80 points.

Senior Daniel Chittick (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) led Grove City with a 68th-place finish. Chittick covered the 8-kilometer course in 27 minutes, 43.4 seconds. Freshman Dan Spaulding (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) placed 74th in 27:52.2 while sophomore Greg Kroleski (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) finished 88th in 28:09.1.

Freshman Brett Kelly (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) took 99th (28:21.8) while frosh Nathan Johnson (Eugene, Ore./Sheldon) placed 103rd in a time of 28:28.0.
