Wolverines take 3rd at Behrend
ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed third out of 13 teams at the Penn State Behrend Invitational Saturday afternoon in Erie. Grove City accumulated 83 team points, trailing on ly Mount Union (21) and Case Western Reserve (41).
Sophomore Nathan Johnson (Eugene, Ore./Sheldon) led Grove City with a 13th-place finish. Johnson covered the course in a time of 27 minutes, 55.40 seconds. Sophomore Dan Spaulding (Rochester, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) placed 15th in 28:03.40 while sophomore Brett Kelly (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) finished 17th in 28:26.35.
Also for Grove City, junior Joey Cortez (Ellwood City, Pa./Ellwood City Lincoln) finished 20th in 28:42.35 and freshman Royce Hyland (Boise, Idaho/Boise) took 25th (28:59.50).
Grove City will compete in the Penn State Invitational next Saturday in University Park, Pa.
