Grove City 2nd at Waynesburg
WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team captured second place at the 10-team Waynesburg Invitational Saturday morning at Greene County Airport. The Wolverines accumulated 78 team points to earn runner-up honors. Carnegie Mellon won the team title with 24 points.
Six Grove City runners placed in the top 25 Saturday. Senior Garrett Cichowitz (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) placed fourth overall with a time of 26 minutes, 4.5 seconds. Freshman Arleigh McRae (East Brookfield, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) took 15th with a time of 27:26.0, two spots ahead of classmate Alec Schultz (Wayzata, Minn./Orono). Schultz placed 17th in 27:36.6.
Freshman Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) earned 20th (27:58.0) and freshman Paulson Domasky (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) finished 22nd in 28:03.7. Sophomore Tim Coyle (Langhorne, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) took 23rd (28:08.5) and sophomore Wesley Coopersmith (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) captured 26th in 28:17.3
Carnegie Mellon's Dan Addis won the individual title with a victorious time of 25:50.1
Grove City will return to action September 25 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational at Cooper's Lake in Slippery Rock, Pa.
