Grove City earns 2nd at Waynesburg
WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team earned second place at the eight-team Waynesburg University Invitational Saturday morning at Greene County Airport by accumulating just 58 team points. Muskingum won the crown with 42 points.
Grove City placed seven runners among the top 25. Sophomore Alec Schultz (Wayzata, Minn./Orono) helped lead Grove City by capturing fourth place. Schultz recorded a time of 27 minutes, 54.7 seconds for eight kilometers.
Sophomore Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) earned sixth in 28:09.6 while junior Wes Coopersmith (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) finished 14th (28:58.1). Sophomore Arleigh McRae (East Brookfield, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) placed 15th with a 29:00.5 clocking.
Also for Grove City, sophomore Paulson Domasky (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) earned 19th (29:20.9), freshman Joey Clark (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) took 21st (29:30.2) and junior Daniel Landskroener (Mayer, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) finished in 23rd place (29:33.7).
Washington & Jefferson's Scott Ryan won medalist honors with a time of 26:41.4.
Grove City returns to action October 8 at the DeSales Invitational in Allentown, Pa.
