Wolverines take 12th at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team returned to action Saturday after a three-week layoff and placed 12th out of 45 teams at the DeSales University Invitational. Grove City finished the meet with 342 team points. Dickinson won the event with 58 team points.

Sophomore Alec Schultz (Wayzata, Minn./Orono) led Grove City's effort by finishing 55th overall with a time of 27 minutes, 49.82 seconds for eight kilometers. Classmate Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) took 59th in 27:56.08.

Also for the Wolverines, sophomore Paulson Domasky (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) earned 66th place with a time of 28:03.45. Junior Tim Coyle (Langhorne, Pa./Holy Ghost Prep) finished 90th in 28:25.63 while junior Wes Coopersmith (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) finished 107th in 28:38.49.

Sophomore Mike Miller (Canton, Ohio/Canton South) took 126th (28:55.68) and junior Francis Ridge (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) placed 153rd in 29:12.27.

Dickinson's Dylan Straughn earned medalist honors with a winning time of 25:56.24. The race featured 448 runners.

Grove City will compete in the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble next Saturday.
